From the CEO
“For almost 20 years Golden Highlands has been a family run business of discoverers and travelers, who delight in sharing the beautiful landscape of Oman with fellow adventurers: whether they are tourists, students, teachers or other visitors.

As one of the original geo-tourism company’s in the Sultanate, we take looking after our environment as seriously as we take learning from its landscape.  We know that the wadis, deserts, mountains and beaches are the unique resources our business is based on- it is our responsibility to keep these places clean and unspoiled.

This is why we take our zero-plastic ambitions so seriously, and why we organize clean-up days to try to minimize the damaging effect that waste and litter can have on our environment.

We keep working on finding solutions to reach our goal: zero waste during our trips and daily life"

Prof. Dr. Martin Meschede

Regionale und Strukturgeologie Institut für Geographie und Geologie, Greifswald, Germany

Travelling around the wonderful landscapes of Oman with Mansoor and his group was a fantastic experience. Not only the very obliging handling of our overnight camps but also the efforts of our guides to give us an understanding of Oman´s culture was intriguing.

Most impressive was the preparation of the traditional Omani meal “Shuwa” with goats being baked for 24 hours in a hole in the ground.

Many thanks to Mansoor and his group for all these magnificent experiences.
